We need pitching, I just cant help thinking back to Omar pulling the plug on that Milledge for Oswalt trade a few years back at the deadline! The real question for me is what was the downside of allowing him to have surgery last August, or even in October if they wanted to maintain a chance of him playing some late-season games. This is a guy whose speed is a big part of his value on offense and defense. If we were talking about somebody like Delgado, it might be different, but Beltran's knees need to be at absolutely full strength. It seems to me like the Mets were fearful of another round of bad press during their maelstrom '09 season and as a result they've ended up jeopardizing their chances in 2010.
