Post-Game: Cardinals 5, Mets 3

The Cardinals took the 3-game series against the Mets by winning tonight’s game, 5-3. Omar Minaya gets one win and as such is happy.

Adam Wainwright gave up a bases-loaded 2-run single, and made an error to allow a third run with a wild throw, but shut it down after that, pitching a complete game. He allowed 4 hits, 2 walks, and struck out 9. He also jump-started the game winning rally, doubling off of Tobi Stoner with one out in the eighth. After Felipe Lopez, the next batter, was retired, Ryota Igarashi came in and allowed a 2-run bomb on his first pitch of the game. Not much else to see here…however…

The Ike Davis era is expected to begin tomorrow, as Davis will be brought up for tomorrow’s game against the Cubs. This is speculation, but most of the reporters seem to believe it will happen. Perhaps, as EliFromBrooklyn on Twitter said, Davis will be taking Jerry Manuel’s spot on the Major League roster…but that, my friends, is wishful thinking.

The Mets are 4-8, having taken one game and lost two to each the Marlins, the Nationals, the Rockies, and the Cardinals.

Tomorrow the Mets kick off a series with the Cubs at Citi Field. Until then, goodnight folks. You gotta believe.
