Pre-Game April 16: Mets vs. Cardinals

The Mets kick off a three-game set against the Cardinals in St. Louis at 8:10 PM EST tonight. The game will be on WPIX. Despite rainy weather in the forecast, the game is starting on time as of right now as per Kevin Burkhardt of SNY.

The Mets’ lineup is as follows:

1. Jose Reyes SS

2. Luis Castillo 2B

3. David Wright 3B

4. Jason Bay LF

5. Mike Jacobs 1B

6. Jeff Francoeur RF

7. Rod Barajas C

8. Gary Matthews Jr. CF

9. Oliver Perez LHP

Chris Carpenter starts for the Cardinals, who are without Matt Holliday tonight (out due to sickness).

By-the-by, earlier today, Omar Minaya said he would be content with one win in this series, and two would be “outstanding.” He should be fired for saying this, but what do I know…not to mention it’s his ass on the line. Whatever.

Jerry Manuel also said he would be pleased if the Mets are “still in the game” when Oliver Perez comes out. Way to shoot for the stars, fellas!

Let’s go Mets!
