I mentioned this yesterday.
The Mets will go through a full turn in the rotation against the Tigers and Twins, with Jon Niese starting twice.
Factoring in matchups and the way the Mets have played at home, 4-2 is both acceptable and very good.
That would put the Mets at 43-32 heading into an easier stretch prior to the All-Star Break.
As Matt Cerrone noted today, the Mets have been very streaky this year. You really don’t want to hit a skid here. You want consistency.
And then the great news…Carlos Beltran will start a rehab assignment Thursday for the St. Lucie Mets, playing in games. Getting him back by the All Star Break will happen barring a setback, as the maximum time for a rehab assignment is 20 days.
