The Mets got a quick and easy win against a bad Orioles team by a 3-1 score.
Jose Reyes led off the game with a homer to left, but Hisanori Takahashi gave it back in the bottom of the first. Takahashi was shaky early, but started to cruise after the third and the Mets gave him a lead in the sixth when David Wright beat out a double play ball the bring home Angel Pagan. In the eighth, Jeff Francoeur belted a solo shot to right center for a much needed insurance run. Pedro Feliciano and K-Rod finished the game with ease.
This is exactly the workmanlike win you have to love, especially against a bad team. Now, the Mets can go for a sweep and look to build momentum for Cleveland and the Yankees.
Let’s go Mets!
