Angel Pagan has been cleared to start and is leading off in tonight’s lineup. He was out a week.
Jose Reyes, on the other hand, has a similar oblique injury, and Jerry Manuel expects him to start no earlier than Sunday, which Newsday writer David Lenno was “skeptical” about. Considering the time Pagan (has) missed (so far), I would expect Reyes to be out for a few more days.
Knowing the Mets, Pagan could very well end up missing more games in the next few days. But with the All-Star Break coming up, it would be very advisable to give these guys the time off they need so as to not have any crippling sagas like last year.
